Hi,my name is Bev Smith & in my never ending search for new & exciting things to do, how could I turn down this opportunity when I found out about it? the Arthritis Society has a "Joints In Motion" fund raising idea that is an awesome approach. Theya are sending a team of 100 runners/walkers from Alberta and the Northwest Territories to the Dublin Marathon on October 30. Each of these lucky participants is asked to raise $5000 for them, and in return they will be sent to Dublin with the team. Finally a cause for me. When I agreed to make this commitment to The Arthritis Society, I was asked to name an "Arthritis Hero". It is a wonderful opportunity for me to honor my mom , Hazel Smith, who has been an enormous support for me throughout my life & who continues to do so even now when she is in frequent pain from arthritis & fibromyalgia (one of many conditions that the Society also puts these funds into research for.) I would also like to add my very dear Uncle Dave Smith to this, who recently passed away after enduring far too many painful surgeries to treat his arthritis. | |||||||||||||||||||||||
